Jordan Loyd, Fred VanVleet Show Out Against Bulls

Just months after being nominated for the coveted NBA Sixth Man of the Year award, Fred VanVleet, Raptors backup point guard, has been struggling greatly.

Jordan Loyd has a similar story to that of VanVleet. He, like VanVleet, joined the Raptors as an un-drafted free agent. Also like VanVleet, he has spent much of his first year playing with G-League affiliate, Raptors905.

On Saturday against the Bulls, VanVleet put up 18 points and 4 boards and dimes, all in 29 minutes, as he started in place of the injured Kawhi Leonard.

Loyd, after having seen all of his games from the sideline so far as a Raptor, got 12 minutes of playing time, scoring eight points and grabbing four boards in that time.

Loyd has the size and shooting ability that will help him develop in to a better player in the near-future, and Freddy, while he looks as though he's already reached nearly his full potential, at 24 years old and standing at just 5'11", is a Kyle Lowry archetype. He has the toughness, drive, and outside shooting to compete with the best point guards in the league.
