Do the Raptors Have a Better Chance at Keeping Leonard Than We First Thought?

After Raptors head coach Nick Nurse first reported that he and Kawhi had a "very engaging conversation", we had to ask the question that seems to be on everyone's minds right now. Do the Raptors have a better chance at re-signing Kawhi Leonard than we first thought?

To put it simply, no. No, they don't, for a number of reasons, the most obvious of which being: Nick Nurse was almost certainly exaggerating the truth, stretching it from Kawhi saying a few words in response to questions, while Nurse was doing most of the talking, to a conversation in which Leonard, who is a notoriously quiet and reserved guy, doing all of the talking.

As well, even if we did believe Nurse and assumed that Kawhi was very engaged in the conversation, he could easily have been feigning enthusiasm in order to keep Raptors staff and fans happy.

HOwever, if Nick Nurse was being truthful in saying that he and Kawhi had to be "dragged out of the room" and on top of that Kawhi was genuine in his interest in hearing what his new coach had to say, then we Raptors fans have a whole lot to be thankful for
